Man remains in critical condition after Barrow attack

A man remains in a critical condition after an early hours assault in Barrow.

The incident happened on Cavendish Street, Barrow at around 4am yesterday, March 31.

It involved three males and a woman. 

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward – including those working in the area like taxi drivers who may have seen the incident or were in the area at the time.

Officers said the victim, a man in his 50s, remained in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

A woman was also assaulted following the initial incident causing no injury. 

A 24-year-old man from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been released on police bail.

A 16-year-old boy from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of attempted to assault a person and has been released under investigation.
