Downies claimed victory in the second game of Workington’s mass no rules football game.
Uppies and Downies – played in the town for hundreds of years – took place today, Tuesday April 2.
The first game saw Uppie John Irving hail the ball at the gates of Workington Hall on Good Friday but Downie Dan Fryer equalled the score at the Prince of Wales Dock.
Dan hailed his first ball in 2022.
