The bomb squad was called in after a suspected piece of ordnance was dug up in Kendal.
Police were called at around 11.45am yesterday, Wednesday April 24, to Oxenholme Road.
A precautionary cordon was in put in place and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team attended to assess the item.
It was determined the item was not to be an explosive device.
There was no risk to the public.
