Human remains found in Cumbrian woods

Human remains have been found in a Cumbrian wood.

Cumbria police announced that officers found the remains as part of Operation Focus, the ongoing investigation into missing man Paul Taylor.

On Thursday, May 2, A police spokesman said the remains were found in the area of Finglandrigg Wood, off the B5307, near Kirkbampton, a village near Carlisle.

They added: “A police presence will be in the area for some time whilst officers continue with their work at the scene.

“People are asked to avoid the area to allow this work to continue.”

Mr Taylor’s family have been informed of developments, they added.

Two people have been charged in connection with the murder of Mr Taylor.

Jack Crawley, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder and Marcus Goodfellow, of Greystone Road, Carlisle, has been charged with assisting an offender.

Goodfellow appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today, Friday, May 3.
