Workington Comets have another busy weekend with meetings on Friday and Saturday.
They visit Scunthorpe on Friday night and then entertain Glasgow on Saturday afternoon.
The meeting at Scunthorpe was initially meant to be the Comets first fixture since stepping up to the Championship in March, but a sudden downpour before tapes up time postponed the meeting.
The Comets convincingly beat the Scorpions at Northside by 22 points (56-34) at the end of April, meaning that if the Comets lose by less than 22 points on Friday they will top the Northern group of the BSN Series by a single aggregate point and progress.
However, team boss James Denham has his eyes set firmly on a win at the Eddie Wright Raceway.
He said: “It’s nice to know we have a bit of cushion on aggregate, but we’re not taking it for granted! Scunthorpe have proven they have a very strong team so far this season and again we will have to be on our toes from the off.

Scunthorpe have their young reserve Nathan Ablitt back for Friday. He crashed heavily into the fence at high speed with Plymouth’s Joe Thompson in the Scorpions’ narrow home victory against Plymouth a little under a month ago, and has been on the sidelines since.
Scunthorpe team boss David Howe will be delighted to welcome him back after Ablitt started the season in good form.
