Barrow have parted company with manager Pete Wild after what they have said was a post-season review.
Wild had Barrow in the play-off positions for much of the season until an end-of-season collapse saw them miss out.
Rumours have been circulating for over a week now that Wild was on his way and that financial pressures were starting to bite.
In their statement tonight the Barrow board said: “Following a post-season review Barrow AFC can confirm that it has today parted company with their manager Pete Wild.
“It became apparent during the review that the Club and Pete had different perspectives on the way forward, so it was mutually agreed that this was the best and most appropriate way to proceed.
“We wish Pete well in his future endeavours.
All other members of the management team remain in place reporting to our Sporting Director, Iain Wood, who will now proceed with the search for a club head coach.”
Wild was appointed Barrow manager in May 2022 and in his first season led the Bluebirds to ninth in the table – when a year earlier they had finished just above the relegation trapdoor in League Two (22nd).
He improved that to 8th in the season just ended but since then the rumours have developed.
Wild had signed a multi-year contract with Barrow in September 2022.
