Workington Reds Player of the Year Jordan Little will not be returning next season.
Little, 30, who picked up two trophies at the end of season presentations, including Supporters Player of the Year, said he felt gutted about his decision but the travelling was getting to him.
He will be still playing next season but it won’t involve as much travelling for the defender, who lives in Workington.
Reds said: “Workington AFC can confirm that Jordan Little has informed the club of his decision to not return for the 2026/27 season.
“Across two spells in a Reds shirt, Jordan has been a colossal presence at the heart of our defence.
“A committed, dependable and wholehearted performer, he has consistently set the standard both on and off the pitch.

“Last season saw Jordan produce what many supporters would regard as his finest campaign for the club.
“A mainstay in the back four throughout the season, his performances were rightly recognised when he was voted Supporters’ Player of the Year.
“His leadership, determination and willingness to put his body on the line for the badge made him a player teammates could rely on and supporters could admire.
“Jordan leaves with the gratitude and best wishes of everyone connected with Workington AFC.
“He will undoubtedly be a huge miss both on the pitch and around the dressing room. Thank you for everything, Jordan, and good luck in whatever comes next.”
