Keswick v Bransty (Ben Challis)

The Cumberland County League is looking for new members ahead of the 2024/25 season.

It has been going since 2001/02 following an amalgamation of teams from the West Cumberland Senior League and the Derwent Valley League.

There were 17 teams involved in the first season, split into two divisions.

Since then teams from the Carlisle and District League have joined, while a year ago Keswick, from the Westmorland League, were accepted.

Membership for last season was 18 teams but Carlisle City resigned prior to Christmas with Gosforth resigning following the completion of their fixtures.

There are potential new teams as Workington Juniors have indicated an interest and Unisun are forming a Development Team.

The league is actively seeking to increase membership and would welcome any new applicants ahead of the annual general meeting.

Anyone interested should contact league secretary Neil McCrickard for more information.

Email [email protected] or text 07526022814.

The AGM is being held at the CFA office, Units 3 & 4, Tithe House, Station Street, Cockermouth, on Thursday June 27 at 7pm.
