Trains on the Cumbrian Coastal Line have returned to normal after a freight train broke down on the line yesterday morning.
Disruption was expected all day yesterday, Monday June 17.
Services between Sellafield and Barrow were disrupted due to the broken down freight train in the Bootle area.
There were no trains running between Millom and Whitehaven.
Northern said a very limited replacement bus service was running, but was subject to very reduced availability and urged people to avoid travelling at all if possible.
Services are running as normal today, Tuesday, June 18.
