Whitehaven A have pulled back a couple of points on West Cumbria Fours League leaders Workington A in the latest round of matches.

Their second string gave them a helping hand by restricting Workington A to a 5-2 victory while Whitehaven A were convincing 7-0 victors at Vulcan Park.

Elsewhere in the Whitehaven Trophies-sponsored League, Fitz Park avenged their 7-0 home defeat against Maryport in the first week of the season by returning the ‘favour’ with a 7-0 win at Maryport to move into third place in the table.

Although Workington A dropped those two points away to struggling Whitehaven B they still have a healthy ten points lead over second placed Whitehaven A after the first game of the second-half of the League season.

Results of matches played on Friday June 28: Whitehaven B 2, Workington A 5; Vulcan Park 0, Whitehaven A 7; Workington B 5, Seaton 2; Maryport 0. Fitz Park 7.
