Jonty Gorley (Ben Challis)

Whitehaven coach Jonty Gorley has been able to name an 18-strong squad for Sunday’s trip to Featherstone.

The addition of loanees AJ Wallace and Lennie Ellis from Hull KR have helped the coach increase the size of his travelling squad.

“Featherstone aren’t the force they were last season, perhaps, but they are still a very strong side.

“We did a lot of good stuff in the first-half against Halifax last week but I’m afraid we went the other way and it was a very disappointing effort in the second-half.”

Noah High is the third loanee in the line-up as the south Cumbrian with Warrington Wolves has impressed in his short time at the club.

Rovers have secured the loan signing of young back-row forward Toby Warren, 20, on a one-month deal from Leeds Rhinos and is in contention to make his debut on Sunday afternoon against Whitehaven.

The Whitehaven squad is: Ross Ainley, Jake Carter, Lucas Castle, Rio Corkill, Lennie Ellis, Will Evans, Edene Gebbie, Guy Graham, Lachlan Hanneghan, Noah High, Ryan King, Jake Maizen, Owen McCarron, James Newton, Joey Romeo, Curtis Teare, Ajhani Wallace, Huw Worthington.

Featherstone will pick from: Caleb Aekins, Connor Wynne, Josh Hardcastle, Greg Minikin, Gareth Gale, Gadwin Springer, Connor Jones, Brad Day, Danny Addy, Harry Bowes, Brad England, Moris Kamano, Manoa Wacokecoke, Charlie Harris, Greg Eden, Paul Turner, Dec Patton, Ben Nakubuwai, Connor Barley, Leo Tennison, Toby Warren.
