Narrow defeat for Harris Park A at Cleator Moor

In the West Cumbria Mixed Triples League leaders Harris Park A suffered a narrow 5-4 defeat at Cleator Moor.

That allowed Maryport to close the gap after their 7-2 home win over Workington B. They trail by eight points but do have a game in hand.

Whitehaven A beat bottom side Vulcan Park B by a maximum 9-0 and are nine points behind the leaders but with two games in hand.

Results from Tuesday June 23: Seascale 5, Croft 4; Maryport 7, Workington B 2; Vulcan Park A 2, Wigton 7; Whitehaven A 9, Vulcan Park B 0; Harris Park B, 8 Seaton 1; Cleator Moor 5, Harris Park A 4.

League standings (Games played and points): Harris Park A 8-48, Maryport 7-40, Whitehaven A 6-39, Workington B 6-35, Cleator Moor 7-35, Egremont 6-33, Wigton 6-33, Croft 8-33, Seascale 8-32.5, Workington A 5-28.5, Whitehaven B 7-27, Vulcan Park 8-25, Seaton 6-23, Harris Park B 7-22, Vulcan Park B 7-5.

In the West Cumbria Fours League, sponsored by Whitehaven Trophies, leaders Workington A consolidated their position with a 7-0 home win over Whitehaven B.

They were able to increase their lead over Whitehaven A to three points as the Copeland side was restricted to a 5-2 home win over Harris Park
