A quiz night held by the Rotary Club of Carlisle Castle has raised £850 for a city youth project.
The event, held recently at the Tithe Barn, saw around 100 people take part.
The winning team was called Electile Dysfunction. The event, which also included a pie and pea supper, made a profit of £850 which will be donated to The Rock youth project in Currock.
Philip Royle, the outgoing president of the Rotary Club of Carlisle Castle, said: “This is a project which I wanted to support in my year as president and we are delighted that we are going to be able to hand over this money to help them fund their valuable work with children and young people in the Currock area. We are very grateful to everyone who supported this event.”
The club said it was always pleased to welcome new members – men and women of all different ages and backgrounds – who want to make a difference in their own community but also support projects improving lives around the world. They can be found online and on Facebook
