Workington Cricket Club remembered one of its finest over the weekend with a special game at the Valentine ground.
The Barry Parker Memorial Trophy was contested between the Old Boys and the club’s Under-19s – and seniority won the day.
The T20 format saw the Old Boys win the toss and opt to bat, a decision that proved a sound one as they reached 154-4.
Matthew Young and Graeme Cook both made 30 before retiring, while there was good support from Callum Moffat (21) and Andrew Reed (20no).

Best of the bowling for the Under-19’s came from Sam Holt with 2-14.
In response the ‘youngsters’ fell short on 127-8 and three run-outs did not help their cause.
Josh Rutter retired on 34 and Matt Lanaghan was 29 not out.

Adam Walker had the best bowling return for the Old Boys as he took 2-14 from his two overs.
Afterwards Under-19s captain Nathan Canfield presented the trophy to opposite number Paul McKeown.
