The Derwent Valley Federation have decided to put back their race from Garstang 24 hours this weekend.
The weather forecast for Saturday is not good so the Federation birds will be marked on Saturday night for a Sunday race.
They have already had two opening young bird races from Flookburgh, which have been staged on the last two Friday with mixed verdicts.
The first was slow, with mixed returns while the second last weekend was faster, and with much better returns.
There is also the last old bird race this weekend with the Cumbria Combine being convoyed and liberated with the Scottish National on Friday for the 500-mile-plus test from Nort sur Edre in France.
There are 40 Cumbrian birds in France ready for the liberation with the 200 birds competing in the Scottish National.
