Eight schools across West Cumbria have helped to raise over £21,000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria by taking part in their own Mini Colour Run.
The events, which took place in May, June and July, saw children run, walk, or even dance around their school field while being showered in a rainbow of colour.
Pupils from Dearham Primary School, Dean C of E Primary School, Orgill Primary School in Egremont, Whitehaven’s Jericho Primary School, Workington’s St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School, Westfield Nursery and Primary School, St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, and Frizington Community Primary School fundraise for the charity, which provides palliative and end of life care to people living in West Cumbria.
Holly Harkness, community fundraising co-ordinator for Hospice at Home West Cumbria, said: “We are now in our ninth year of hosting Mini Colour Runs at local schools, and each year seems to get bigger and better!
“We want to say a big thank you to all the staff, parents, volunteers and especially the pupils for supporting our charity through these fun events.”
