After a busy July, Healthwatch Cumberland is encouraging people to take it easy before the summer starts.
Healthwatch Cumberland said a small change can have a big impact on your wellbeing – so it and its partners will be showcasing a wealth of ideas at an event in Carlisle city centre on Tuesday, July 30.
There will be fun and games as well as serious advice and people who can guide you to the sort of help you need:
- Healthwatch Cumberland will be sharing the results of their addictions projects with a youth tent and a busker
- CADAS will have its smoothie bike, whipping up some healthy drinks as well as a free tasting of alcohol-free refreshments, a mocktail bar and advice on controlling your drinking.
- Recovery Steps will be there with information on alcohol and drug habits.
- Active Cumbria is promoting a more active lifestyle and Rebike will help you fix & go with your bicycle.
- There will be NHS activities to help you appreciate your liver and to help your mental health with MIND.
- SafetyNet will bust some myths, provide some surprising facts and hand out gifts.
Leigh Williams, CEO of CADAS said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone to have a bit of fun, chat with our people and learn a little about caring for yourself. There is also the opportunity to try something different on the drinks front with no pressure to react in a way that pleases your peers.”
Between 7pm and 9pm that evening, CADAS has teamed up with BrewDog on Botchergate for a games night to continue the theme into the evening.
There will be board games to enjoy, a league to add a little competition and BrewDog will provide a range of non-alcoholic tipples.
