Aspatria have signed the Cockermouth Titans rugby league club’s captain Regan Tinnion for the 2024/25 season.

He is the younger brother of former Workington Reds FC captain Connor Tinnion, who completed a  and successful career with the Borough Park club at the end of last season.

Aspatria’s former coach, now head of rugby Mike Scott said: “Regan has played for us in previous seasons, but he will be first to admit he only dipped his toes in the water due to his rugby league commitments.

“He’s been looking sharp in pre-season so far and should fit into our squad and style of play with ease and push for a first team place on a regular basis.

“Regan had a full season playing centre with Cockermouth last year so will have a good feel for the league and the strength of opposition he will come up against.

“He has captained Cockermouth Titans RL team with great distinction for the past few seasons and his form on the park has gone through the roof consequently.

“He’s in the sweet spot of his career right now and hopefully his best years are in front of him. We as a club, and coaching team, can’t wait to see him in a Black Red shirt over the coming season.”
