Jordan Little, Workington’s mid-week man of the match, will miss the next three games for Reds starting this afternoon at home to Leek Town.
Little, who has been a key figure in both games so far for Mark Fell’s team, is on a pre-booked family holiday.
“Jordan has been outstanding for us in the two games so far and he has really impressed me since I came into the club.
“It was good to hear and read that the fans thought that Tuesday was his best performance in a red shirt,” said Fell.
Reds had both Gateshead loanees on the bench in the 1-1 draw with Lancaster on Tuesday and either Ben Fell or Ben Williams will come in for the missing Little.
Manager Fell says that no new faces will be coming into the squad for today’s game with Leek Town but he is chasing two targets for areas in the team he wants to strengthen – mid-field and up front.
Fell also confirmed that he had received no phone call from the referee’s assistant about the contentious offside which wasn’t given but has been clearly identified on the match video.
The manager had said that he would have expected an apology from the official because if it had proved to be on-side he would have phoned to say sorry after he said one or two things to him after the game.
To hear Mark Fell talk about that official’s decision, how the squad are preparing for Leek this afternoon and his efforts to strengthen the side, you can hear him below:
