Carlisle City moved up to sixth in the Northern League table with a comprehensive 4-0 home win over Easington Colliery.
It had been uncomfortable start for City in the first ten minutes when Colliery had piled on early pressure.
The home side had lost Carlisle United loanee Josh O’Brien in the warm-up and after six minutes centre forward Callum Birdsall had to go off with a hamstring injury.
But they reacted well and by half-time had opened-up a 3-0 lead and a fourth goal early in the second-half virtually killed-off the game.
The three City goals in the first-half came in a seven-minute spell to set them firmly on their way.
Substitute Keighran Kerr started the quick-fire treble with a goal on 25 minutes and two minutes later Tom Mahone thumped-up home a beauty from fully 25 yards.
Kerr, who has waited patiently on his bench to his chance, grabbed his second on 32 minutes.
Summer recruit Keiron Blair scored a well-taken fourth on 48 minutes and from there City coasted through to the final whistle.
They have two more home games coming up – with Guisborough on Tuesday and against Boro Rangers next Saturday.
