It’s been said before, and it’s happened again – goals galore in the Cumberland County League as Saturday produced another entertaining day of football.
In the Premier Division, Keswick got their first three points of the campaign as they were 6-3 winners against Aspatria.
Luke Mason bagged himself a hat trick with Alfie West (2) and Ewan Clarke helping the Fitz Park outfit to victory.
The Aspatria goals came from Andrew Trestianu (2) and Darryl Creighton with the visitors having the better of the first half when they took the lead twice, but were outclassed by Keswick in the second half.

Impressive youngster Luke Mason scored his first senior goals and they were three excellent strikes for the hat trick.
The first of two from captain Alfie West followed, before long-serving defender Ewan Clark scored his first ever goal for the first team with a thunderous strike into the top left corner. West’s second completed the scoring.

Wigton v Cockermouth was postponed because of an event on the Harriers pitch and a alternate venue couldn’t be found in time.
The Unisun Athletic v Whitehaven Miners Social was called off in midweek by the league.

In Division One, the game of the day was Whitehaven Miners Social Development v Silloth which ended up being an eight goal thriller.
Jamie Thursby, Josh Finlay, Ryan O’Neil, Ben McCarron and Braydon Walmsley all netted for Miners to give them a 5-3 victory.
The Silloth goals came from a Kris Nichol hat trick.
Workington Juniors still have a 100% record after Danny Manchester, Jayden Scott and Macauley Sharp goals gave them a 3-0 win against Bransty Rangers.
Dearham United and Whitehaven AFC Reserves were involved in an entertaining 3-3 draw. Callum Foy, Jack Brown and Tom Glover found the net for Dearham but goals from Joe Dobinson, Nathan McGlennon and Charlie Hodgson for Whitehaven meant the points were shared.
Two goals from Reece Fitzimons and a goal from Kyle Bailiff helped Mirehouse to a 3-2 win against Unisun Athletic Youth Development. James-Lee Reynolds and Karlton Rudd both netted for Unisun but it wasn’t enough to prevent their first defeat of the season.
Windscale Reserves beat Cockermouth Reserves 3-1 with Kian Hoey, Bobby Fitzpatrick and Sam Tallantire all on the scoresheet. Cockermouth were on the sheet with an own goal.
