A pensioner has died following a South Cumbrian house fire.
Emergency services were called to Westwood Avenue in Kendal today, September 24, at around 6.55am.
A man, in his 90s, was taken from the property by firefighters. He was treated at the scene but died while on the way to hospital.
Cumbria police said it and the fire service was currently making joint enquiries.
There are no suspicious circumstances at this time, police added.
