Tuesday night saw the first of four trails at Dearham with a three-race card setting them on their way.
The seniors were first to slip with 12 runners and Silver Dream was the 4/5 on favourite, having had an excellent record round the course as a pup.
Out on the trail she was heading the race followed closely by Foxparke Beep Beep with Foxparke Fair Lady and Croft Lass not too far behind.
As they came onto the finish Silver Dream had broken away and had established a good lead, coming in to win the race easily for Darren and Julie McMaster.
The win takes her one point clear now of her kennel mate Rodney Raider and Huntsman’s Rebel at the top of the senior Championship table. Her impressive record round the Dearham trail bodes well for the rest of the series and the title race.
Foxparke Beep Beep ran a good race to finish in second place followed by Foxparke Fair Lady for the Napier kennel then a gap to Croft Lass for Carole and Stanley Jackson.
Strawberry Mick finished in fifth for Graham Reid followed by the second favourite Cracking Last One Two for Bill and Pat Mellon and Robert and Tina Airey. Next to slip were the open pups with a good slip of 23 hounds and the locally-trained Thornton was the odds-on favourite.
As they crossed the road at the half-way point Thornton had a nice lead followed by one of the Millie’s. However as they came onto the finish it was Minnie Million and Snowfell who were leading the race and it was a good battle as they came through the last couple of fields.
It was Minnie Million who finished the best of the two hounds and she crossed the line a couple of yards in front of her brother Snowfell both hounds being bred from Winterfell and Maggie’s Dream.

The win for Minnie Million is her tenth win of the season and just like Snowfell she is chipping away at the leading hounds in the Puppy Championship.
Thorn Soul ran a good race to finish in third place for the Burrow’s and Sarah Jackson with Millie’s Lass finishing in fourth place for George McGimpsey and Gillian and Millie Telford. James and Ava McClelland’s Baroness Ava was in fifth with George’s other hound Millie’s Lad claiming the last ticket.
Despite Thornton leading over the road at the half-way point he was unplaced.
The last race was the open restricted with 15 runners. Paddy The Plasterer was the favourite along with Milo Moon who also has a reasonable record round the course.

As they came on to the finish it was High Crag for Ian Fleet and Jayne Petersen that was leading the hounds with Milo Moon for Tracey Hill in second place.
As they neared the line Milo Moon just pushed on and came level with his brother High Crag but after referring to the camera the judge gave a dead heat as the two hounds could not be separated.
Tania Satterthwaite’s Paddy The Plasterer finished well in third place with Kinniside Dan for Tony Jackson and Ian Rudd in fourth. Tania’s other hound Samcro finished in fifth with Katie and Sophie Steel’s Miterdale Honesty finishing in sixth place.
Trailing moves to the last trail at Fellside this season on Thursday night with a three race meeting, and the first trail starts at 4.15pm.
