Carlisle United boss Mike Williamson expects a battle for control when his side take on Grimsby Town at Brunton Park on Saturday.
He told the club website: “I think we’re going to have to win the battle and that could take 85 minutes. Obviously, they have got experience in their team and they’ve got a way they want to play.
“They can flip it as well with Danny Rose up top who’s good in the air and he’s got goals. He’s experienced at this level.
“They want to play out but they’ve also got the alternatives. We’ve got to make sure we’re switched on and we defend like we did last weekend.
“We can try and implement a few things in possession. They had a man sent off and I think they picked up an injury or two last weekend as well. They might have to make a few changes.
“They’ll have strength in depth and we’re making sure we focus on ourselves. Give the boys as much detail as we can about their position.”
Williamson also spoke about his first full week in charge and how the players had responded in training.
He said: “The boys have been brilliant. They’re working their socks off and embracing everything we’re trying to do.
“The lads are in high spirits after the weekend and looking forward to another tough challenge.
“We’re assessing many different things and there’s loads to look at and do. We’re just trying to keep the main objective, which is to get the lads prepped and ready for Grimsby.
“It was a good result last weekend, but there was plenty to work on performance wise. The boys were fantastic. They showed so much grit and determination and real personality and character, and I’m really pleased with that.
“We want to keep implementing things, but make sure it’s done steadily. They’re a great group. Really honest, authentic, hard-working human beings. That’s the base for what we want to build.”
