A Lancashire trophy is coming to Cumbria after the Lowca club made history at the weekend.
Lowca have a team in the North West Counties Youth League for Under-15s and in the final of the Lancashire Plate they beat Crosfields in a dramatic contest.
The game went into golden point added time after they had finished all square at 28-28 and a penalty by Ryan Wood gave Lowca the win.
They were the first Cumbrian team to win a trophy in the North West Counties League.

It was a remarkable effort, too, because with seven minutes left Lowca were staring defeat in the face, trailing 28-12.
But they produced a thrilling fightback, scoring three tries in that time and with two conversions they had pulled level.
Crosfields had been the better side in the first half, but just edged it 10-8 at the break. However in the second-half they pulled clear at 28-12 and the Warrington side thought they were home and dry.

But they reckoned without Cumbrian grit and determination and a power-packed finish saw Lowca turn it round to force the final into a golden point decider.
Crosfields got close on two occasions but missed with both drop goal attempts while Lowca also had a chance of a drop goal which missed too.

Then, close to the Crosfields’ line Lowca were awarded a penalty and immediately went for the two points to win the game. Ryan Wood held his nerve and put the ball between the sticks to make a bit of history.
Wood had earlier kicked four goals, but this fifth one was priceless in the context of the game.

Skipper Kayden Allen, Deon Maudling, Thomas Spires, Cameron Marsh and Tyce Walmsley scored the tries while Addison Callender was named man of the match.
