Workington Town have announced that two of their players will be leaving on the completion of their contracts at the Fibrus Community Stadium.

Jordan Burns and Jordan Thomson have been big favourites of the Town faithful in the two years that they have played for the club.

Former Whitehaven and Kells full-back Burns has been thanked for his services to Town.

On a social media post Town said: “Jordan has brought passion, immense skill and flair and also laughter to the club.

“We’d like to thank him for his massive contribution to the club over the last two seasons and best of luck in what comes next.”

Thomson has also been extremely popular with the Town supporters and the club said: “We’d like to thank Jordan for his fantastic service in the blue and white as he leaves us at this, the end of the 2024 season.

“He’s been a brilliant bloke and player on and off the pitch over the last four seasons. Thank you Tomposh and best of luck to you in the future.”

Nothing has been disclosed as to their next club but the local rumour mill suggests both are following coach Anthony Murray back to the Recreation Ground where both have played before.
