Andy’s Man Club is set to open a new support group in Wigton, thanks to the town’s Innovia Films.
Andy’s Man Club is a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the UK and online. Innovia has gifted the organisation a venue so it can offer its support in Wigton.
Darren Jackson, general manager, said: “It is great to work with Andy’s Man Club and help provide a space to enable the charity to undertake their amazing work here in Wigton.
“Being a major business and employer of the town, the group is a huge asset to the local community, and we encourage anyone to use the services they offer. This is great for Wigton and surrounding areas.”
John Miller, Innovia employee and facilitator of Andy’s Man Club, said: “Having joined Innovia Films in January, I was delighted to see how much the company was already in support of Andy’s Man Club, from posters across all the offices and factory to having Andy’s Man Club image as the screen saver on all PCs and TVs around the site.
“When the management team found out I was involved in Andy’s Man Club they were keen to learn more about what we do, and how Innovia Films could support the charity further. One question raised was why wasn’t there a club in Wigton.
“When I explained that to open a club, we needed a venue along with some volunteers to run it, Innovia immediately offered a space.
“Without the support of Innovia Films, Andy’s Man Club may not be in the position we are today to reach men in and around the Wigton area”.
