Third time unlucky for Windscale’s mid-week match

Windscale’s Wearside League game tonight at home to Bishop Auckland reserves has been called off for a third time.

But it won’t be rearranged because the visitors have resigned from the league after struggling to raise sufficient players for their games.

Bottom of the league they had only played nine games, losing seven, winning one and drawing the other with 11 goals scored and 35 conceded.

They actually sat on minus 2 points after having six penalty points deducted form their record.

Twice before Bishops should have sent their second team to the Falcon Complex for a mid-week game but each time it was called off.

Presumably their record will be deleted, so that will not affect Windscale as they have not played them.

At the moment the Atoms sit third in the table just two points behind leaders Durham Corinthians but from two more games.

On Saturday, Windscale will resume their programme at home to Seaton Carew Seniors who lie 12th in the table with four wins, a draw and seven defeats to their name.
