Penrith Ladies picked up another three points in a hard-fought game with Morecambe.
In difficult conditions the Cumbrians emerged the 3-1 winners.
Both teams struggled with a strong wind which made for testing playing conditions.
Penrith settled the better of the two teams and had missed some good chances before they eventually took the lead in the 30th minute. Morecambe failed to clear a Penrith corner and Abbie Forster was on hand to finish well and give the home side a 1-0 lead.
With only minutes left in the first half Morecambe equalised from a corner of their own. The in swinger was met at the back post by Yasmine Carswell who finished well to make it all square at half time .
Penrith set off well in the second half and looked to be in control of the game , however it was Morecambe who took the lead.
A shot from distance found the bottom corner after the Penrith goalkeeper had unfortunately slipped.
The home team picked up the pace and both Elli Gallacher and Abbie Forster had good chances before a good ball into the box found Kayleigh Wharton, who levelled the scores.
Morecambe were now under sustained pressure and a good team move released Wharton down the left.
She cut inside the defender and fired towards the top corner, only to see the Morecambe goalkeeper make a fantastic save.
However, ten minutes later Wharton did find the winner with her second of the game. Another good spell of Penrith pressure resulted in Wharton running through one on one with the goalkeeper, and she kept her head to finish well into the bottom corner and secure the points for Penrith.
