A road was closed in Kendal following a collision yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Burton Road at around 4.05pm on Thursday, November 7.
It involved a HGV and a female pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was confirmed dead at the scene.
Officers are asking any witnesses, or anyone who has information or relevant dashcam footage, to contact them.

The collision led to the road being closed, initially from the area around Westmorland General Hospital and the road to Oxenholme to the roundabout by the Asda store. It has since reopened.
A collision earlier yesterday closed Natland Road, but that also reopened.
