Workington Comets young Australian recruit Tate Zischke missed out on the online supporters vote for signing of the season in the Cab Direct Championship.
The award turned into a two-horse race with Tom Brennan of Poole getting the better of Workington newcomer Zischke.
Brennan polled 51% of the vote to Zischke’s 34% with the other nominees Drew Kemp (8%) and Tobias Thomsen (7%) well behind.
Rider of the Year in the Championship was the Glasgow Tigers skipper Chris Harris.
Although the Tigers missed out on reaching the play-offs in their title defence, Harris continued to thrill fans at Ashfield and on away tracks with more sensational racing.
He polled 50 per cent of the vote, with another spectacular racer, Edinburgh’s Josh Pickering, voted as runner-up.
The Young Rider of the Year award proved to be very closely contested as Oxford’s Luke Killeen edged out Poole’s Vinnie Foord, his own Cheetahs team-mate Ashton Boughen and Scunthorpe’s former Comet Luke Harrison with all four riders separated by only 9%.
The Most Improved Rider award became a landslide victory for Plymouth’s Dan Thompson, with Paco Castagna in second place.
