Keswick 2nds were not quite able to match their first team’s efforts in their Counties 1 Cumbria game.
The first team had blitzed Carlisle 58-7 in National 2 North but the seconds went down 29-19 to Egremont.
Under the circumstances it was a good effort against an Egremont side which had won all seven of their opening matches in the league.

The visitors started the game on the front foot, too, running in two quick tries as they overran the Keswick defence.
Keswick battled their way back into the game at Davidson Park, but the visitors never let go of the lead, had the edge, and took the win.

The Keswick tries came from Liam Quail, who burrowed over the line from close range; Josh Clark who barged his way through for the second and Ollie Dunn with a charge down the left wing for the third. Ste Holloway added two conversions.
As the clock ticked down the game slipped away from Keswick who just couldn’t get onto equal terms with a good Egremont side whose tries came from Ian Crichton, the very impressive Jamie Wilson who dominated the left wing, Steven Smith and Neil Richardson.

Jordan Moyes had his kicking boots on and added three good conversions and one penalty goal.
Next weekend Keswick face Millom away, with their hosts just one point ahead of them in the table in what looks like being another good test for the young Lakes side.
