Barrow’s former striker Andy Cook denied the Bluebirds their first win since October 5 at Valley Parade last night.
That had been over seven games and has contributed to Barrow slipping from joint top to 13th in the table.
Several points have been lost through the opposition scoring late levellers and their inability to hold onto leads showed up again with Bradford City earning a 1-1 draw
This wasn’t a last-minute affair but was still late after 79 minutes when Cook planted a header past Paul Farman when he got on the end of substitute Bobby Pointon’s cross.
Both teams have been short of goals and that contributed to a low key first half.
Andy Dallas had the first chance for Barrow but shot well over the bar while fired an early chance over for the visitors while for City Olly Sanderson headed a cross from Cook straight at Farman.
The goal that gave Barrow hopes of ending their winless run came in the 58th minute when Robbie Gotts nipped in at the near post to guide Ben Jackson’s pass into the net past keeper Sam Walker.
It left City 10th in the table a point better off than Barrow.
