
Two lofts dominated the two latest pigeon shows staged by Flimby HS and Workington Victoria.
Alan Bromley and co were first, second and third in Flimby, as well as fifth, while the McLuckie brothers, Morris and Wayne were first, third and fourth in Victoria.
Ian Sharples judged at Flimby while Steven Barlow and Kieron Doyle cast their eyes over the Workington pigeons.
Both classes were for young hens and Flimby attracted 40 entries while there were 52 in the Victoria class.
Flimby tickets were awarded to: 1, 2, 3, 5, A. Bromley and co; 4, Varty, son and grandson; 6, Williams and Hadfield. Show sponsors Long and Small.
Workington Victoria tickets wwnt to: 1, 3, 4, McLuckie bros; 2, Varty, son and grandson; 5, Williams and Hadfield; 6, A. Hayton; 7, N. Semple; 8, Bromley and co.
Victoria will be holding two shows in one on Friday, judging at 7.30pm, for all ticket winners and fancy coloureds.
Meanwhile at Flimby they are preparing for two show races on Wednesday, December 11 and Wednesday, December 18 in the Sports and Social Club.
This week is for any age cock and is for the longest inland race, £3 entry with unlimited noms at £1.
The following week will be for any age hens – first channel race or Guernsey with £5 entry, unlimited nominations. Same amount of pigeons in show as in race.
