‘We’re happy with team’ Workington Comets’ Andrew Bain ahead of Championship return

Workington promoter Andrew Bain says he can see improvement throughout the Comets team as they bid to build on the success of their Cab Direct Championship return.

The Northside outfit reached the play-offs this year despite a relatively late start to team building as they confirmed their move back to senior racing, and now they are keen to go further in 2025.

Bain said: “We are really happy with the team we have put together for next season, and our fans should be as well.

“There’s a great balance to the team and they all have the potential to improve again next season.

“We have what we feel are two strong reserves (Jacob Hook and Vinnie Foord), who are all-out racers, and we didn’t have for the majority of last season.

“It is just a case now of seeing what 2025 brings and hopefully we get some success along the way – but we think this team has what it takes to be a successful one.”

The Comets created something of a record by recruiting five Australian’s for their new-look line-up, headed by last season’s rider of the year Troy Batchelor.
