Lake District mountain rescue teams were called out on Boxing Day after a man was reported to be unconscious.
Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team volunteers were called at around 2.55pm to Grisedale Hause and 13 members responded
The team said: “CPR was unsuccessful and he was sadly declared deceased.
“He was recovered to Keswick Mountain Rescue Team base by a Coastguard helicopter.
“We were assisted by Coniston and Keswick mountain rescue teams.”
