Torches at ready (with fresh batteries)?

Candles or paraffin/storm lamps ready?

Battery radio to listen to local weather updates?

Contact details for home insurer to hand?

Do you need to travel? If yes, check Cumbria Crack for trees down, flooding, et and be ready to amend your route.

Check National railways website and if you can delay and travel later in the weekend, DO SO.

Bus services – check Cumbria Crack local updates or use their app.

Is your car ready? – screenwash full, blanket, water and snacks in case road blocked.

Do you really HAVE to go to work? Is your life worth the risk for a job you can do at home?

Are all schools closed? And if not, with wind speeds of 90+ forecast, WHY NOT?

Yes, we are Northerners and we are used to bad weather but this storm is forecast to be exceptional, so BE READY
