A young Cumbrian kart racer has backed a charity helping people with autism and their families – raising over £1,000 for its work.
Harry Pennington, 12, wanted to support the charity’s football team and decided over the course of his race year, he would try to prove that autism is just a different ability and raise awareness of Bee Unique’s work.
At the same time, he raised funds to support the football team with costs in getting to matches.
With the charity’s logo on his kart and race suit, Harry has raced against some of the best youngsters in the country in four championships, covering over 5,000 miles thanks to the support of his chief mechanic dad Joe, mum Maria and local sponsors S Atkinson Excavations and Groundworks Ltd, Low Thorney Farm, Paul Douglas Building and Groundworks Ltd, Alpha Energy Consulting, Jay Halliwell Electrical, AJA Small Plant Hire and Groundworks and Ravenglass Chinneysweep.
The West Cumbrian youngster was recently awarded the Bee Unique FC fundraiser of the year at their football team presentation night.
Maria said: “Harry plans to continue his support for Bee Unique in his 2025 karting journey, proudly displaying their logo and sharing his race reports on social media.”
