Police patrols are being increased in areas of Workington after a rise in thefts.
Over the last few weeks, Allerdale Neighbourhood Policing Team said they had been investigating several incidents and officers are asking people to make sure they are vigilant about their property.
Police said the incidents included bike thefts.
They said investigations had led to three arrests and those people have been released on bail.
Sergeant Leesa Edwards said: “We are asking the communities of Workington to take steps to secure their property.
“Additional patrols are in place to disrupt those involved, but we are also asking that people remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to us.”
Community beat officer for Workington North, PC Luke McKenna is also holding a free bike marking event to help people protect their property on Thursday, March 13 at 4pm at Workington Leisure Centre.
