Coniston Water

People can find out more about United Utilities investment plans to improve the water quality of Coniston.

The North West water company is upgrading its wastewater treatment works in Coniston.

It said it will see the capacity of the works increase to allow more sewage to be treated, which would reduce the number of times that the storm overflow operates during periods of heavy rain.

Representatives from United Utilities will be at the Coniston Institute between 2pm and 7pm on Wednesday, April 9. They will talk through the projects and answer any questions.

A number of deliveries are going to be made overnight to Coniston wastewater treatment works between 10pm and 5am on Wednesday April 23 and Tuesday April 29.

Residents are being asked not to park cars on the delivery route and letters have been sent to impacted properties.
