Plans to host the Fred Conway Cumberland Cup Final in Workington on Easter Tuesday have been cancelled due to Uppies and Downies.
Penrith AFC was due to face Carlisle City at Workington Reds’ Borough Park on April 22, which is also the second game of the town’s no-rules mass football game, which starts nearby.
Cumberland FA said it was contacted by Workington Reds to highlight the clash and it then carried out a risk assessment and liaised with Cumbria police.
Cumberland FA said: “Cumbria police advised we will be unable to host the final at Borough Park. Because of this, we are working with Penrith and Carlisle City to find an alternative solution.
“A further update will be issued in due course.”
