
More arrests have been made as part of a police operation in Cumbria.
Three people were arrested over the weekend as part of Operation Spotlight, which is a month-long campaign to highlight the Fatal Four – the most dangerous behaviours on the road.
They are speeding, using a mobile phone at the wheel, not wearing a seatbelt and driving under the influence of drink and/or drugs.
In the early hours of Saturday, April 26, police stopped a car being driven by a 31-year-old woman in Cecil Street in Carlisle.
She was arrested after failing a breath test for alcohol and a drugs wipe.
She was released under investigation to allow time for blood test results.
On Saturday night, officers stopped a car in Silecroft, near Millom, driven by a 21-year-old man.
He failed a drugs wipe for cannabis and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and possession of cannabis.
He was released under investigation to allow time for blood test results.
On Sunday night, police stopped a car on the A590 at Witherslack.
The 19-year-old driver failed a drugs wipe and was arrested. She was released under investigation to allow time for blood test results.
