The first round of fixtures in the West Cumbria Fours League in the 2025 season took place on Friday.
Last year’s champions, Workington A, started the defence of their title with a comfortable 7-0 win away against Whitehaven B.
There was a fine home win for Vulcan Park who defeated Whitehaven A 4-3, with one of the home rinks snatching victory on the final end.
Cleator Moor had a 7-0 away win against Workington B. Fitz Park won 6-1 at Maryport, though it was close on two rinks and the result could easily have been 4-3 to the home team.
Home team captains are reminded to notify the league secretary, Cyril Atkinson, of results as soon as possible after the completion of matches.
