A man has been arrested after reports that a man with a knife was in a Carlisle street making threats to others.
Police were called to reports of a disturbance at Linden Terrace at around 3.45pm yesterday, Thursday May 15.
Cumbria police said: “Police were deployed and were on the scene within minutes before making the arrest.
“Nobody was hurt. The arrested man remains in custody.
“Extra officers are being deployed to the area this evening to offer reassurance to the community.”
Police said they were aware of video footage being circulated on social media and asked people not to share it so not to impact any criminal proceedings.
