People are invited to help celebrate the 40th birthday of Barrow’s Furness General Hospital on Friday.
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is holding a birthday party from 11am to 1pm and everyone is welcome.
There’ll be something for everyone to enjoy, including a 1980s-themed Radio Lonsdale show and restaurant menu, displays celebrating the hospital’s history and future, activities and chances to support fundraising for hospital services.
The event will feature a number of special guests, including Dr Geoff Jolliffe, Barrow GP and the High Sheriff of Cumbria; and mayor of Barrow Judith McEwan.
Tony Oakman, the trust’s interim chair, said: “Forty years is quite the milestone! I just want to thank all colleagues – past and present – for their dedication and hard work.
“I hope members of our local community are able to find time to come to celebrate all things FGH with us on the day; and if you do make your way down to the restaurant, please come and say hello.”
