A Lake District hotel has raised over £25,000 to hep protect the national park.
Cedar Manor in Windermere has supported the Lake District Foundation for several years and has recently reached the milestone.
The cash raised supports projects that protect the landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Lake District.
Owners Caroline and Jonathan Kaye have run Cedar Manor for the 15 years.
Through guest donations, matched giving and creative fundraising, the Cedar Manor team has helped to fund a range of environmental and community projects – from red squirrel conservation to repairing mountain paths.
Their support has also enabled the Lake District Foundation to offer grants to small, local organisations working on the frontlines of nature recovery and sustainable tourism.
Sarah Swindley, CEO of the Lake District Foundation, said: “Cedar Manor sets a shining example of how tourism can be a force for good. This generous contribution is a reflection of their values and the deep connection they have with this special place.
“We are incredibly grateful for their long-standing partnership and the real difference it makes.”
Caroline and Jonathan added: “We’re lucky to live and work in such a beautiful area. Supporting the Lake District Foundation feels like a natural extension of what we do – looking after people and looking after the place. Our guests often tell us how much they appreciate the chance to give back and we’re proud to be part of that story.”
