Whitehaven have suffered a blow with a hefty suspension for 24-year-old Australian half-back Cameron Brown.
He was given a seven-match suspension by an RFL tribunal after being found guilty of Grade E ‘Other Contrary Behaviour’ in Haven’s recent defeat at Midlands Hurricanes.
Brown has also received a £75 fine and been given 39 penalty points. He won’t be available until the game against Newcastle Thunder on Sunday, August 24.
Before joining Haven, Brown had left the Widnes club after spending 2023 and 2024 at Cornwall making 37 appearances scoring 27 tries and 41 goals.
Brown played for Burleigh Bears in the Queensland Cup competition in Australia before making the move to the Duchy ahead of the 2023 season.
At the same tribunal, Jamie Shaul of Goole Vikings was suspended for six matches, and fined £75, after being found guilty of a Grade E punching charge in a Betfred League One fixture against Workington Town on May 25.
Shaul pleaded guilty to lashing out but not punching. The offence carries 36 penalty points.
