A Cumbrian student represented England at the U18 Youth Cup Mountain Running Championships last weekend.
Millie Jebb, a pupil at The Queen Katherine School, travelled to Slovakia for the event last Saturday, June 14.
The challenging uphill course of 5.2km had an elevation of over 550m, pushing the athletes from 18 nations to their limits.
Millie finished in 27th position and was the 2nd counter for the England team.
Tim Daglish, head of PE at the school, said: “We are incredibly proud of Millie. The PE department has had the pleasure of watching Millie representing the school over the past five years.
“In this time Millie has won the English Schools fell running championships and many other titles. It is now great to see Millie earn her second England vest and compete internationally. Millie is a great example of hard work and dedication, a true role model to our younger pupils.”
