A collision in a north Cumbrian village mean contractors will have to carry out urgent repairs to a bridge.
The collision happened at Waverbridge, near Wigton, last night.
Cumberland Council said: “Initial assessments indicate that some damage has occurred which will require further investigation and subsequent repair.
“At this stage, we estimate the repair work may take approximately seven days to complete. However, before we can mobilise to site, several preparatory steps are necessary.
“We are treating this as an urgent matter and will integrate the works into the existing bridge maintenance programme.
“Temporary traffic management, including signal control, will be required to ensure safety during this period.”
