A film created by Cumbrian youngsters has received national recognition.
Pause: It’s Not your Fault was created by members of the North Allerdale Development Trust.
It came third in the primary category of the Childnet Film Competition, held at Disney’s headquarters in London.
The competition, now in its 16th year, challenges young people across the UK to use their creativity and voice to raise awareness about key issues in online safety.
This year’s theme – It’s not your fault: How can we support each other against online scams? – inspired the trust’s young participants to draw on their real-life experiences.

Their film uses a split-screen format to highlight the deceptive tactics used by scammers, including identity theft, account hacking, and device breaches. The film offers clear, relatable advice on how to identify scams and provides a reassuring message: if you fall victim to a scam, it’s not your fault.
Sandra Keaveney CEO of the trust, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that the young people we support have been recognised on a national stage.
“Their creativity, teamwork, and willingness to share their personal experiences have made a real impact, and this recognition is well-deserved.”
